Courts

Court departments include Criminal and Civil.  The criminal division is comprised of Juvenile, Misdemeanor and Felony departments.

The Civil division includes Family, Small Claims, County Civil, Landlord Tenant, Circuit Civil, and Probate departments.

In each of these divisions, the deputy Clerks open court files and perform all filing, scanning, docketing, and other duties for each document filed in any case.  With few exceptions they prepare and maintain court calendars, attend and keep minutes of each court session and oversee jury selection.

Court departments also collect filing fees and receive and disburse payment of monetary penalties assessed by the Court.

Our court departments work hard to provide these services to the judiciary, the filing parties, and the public in a timely and professional manner.  We measure our performance in these areas and most of all strive to make the experience a positive one for all involved.

Finally, these departments provide operational data and compile and monitor statistics for statewide reporting requirements, both criminal justice and administrative in nature.
